After 18 games into the season, Real Madrid is leading La Liga with an impressive 45 points. However, their lead over the division is only on goal difference from the unexpectedly strong team, Girona, despite their excellent performance.

Real have been undefeated in their last 12 league matches since their 3:1 loss to city rivals Atletico, speeding up in recent weeks with five victories from their latest six La Liga games. Real have shown dominance at the Bernabeu, securing 11 wins and two draws from their past 13 league matches since April. In their recent home victories against Osasuna, Valencia, Granada, and Villarreal, they have amassed a total of 15 goals.

The Islanders from Mallorca arrive in Madrid in top form, remaining undefeated in six matches since November’s end. However, Javier Aguirre’s team has had difficulty securing wins, with their last victory, a 3:2 win against Osasuna, marking only their second league victory in 13 tries since mid-September.

Los Piratas have had a challenging season on the road, with only one victory and five losses out of nine away games. Mallorca has been unable to score in their last four away games, which includes a 1:1 loss to Atletico Madrid last month.

In addition to their recent difficulties during their journeys, Mallorca has an especially unfavorable history at this location. Los Piratas have faced defeat in their last seven matches against Real at the Bernabeu, with a total of 24 goals conceded.
