Two teams that competed in the Championship last year are set to face each other at Turf Moor in Burnley for the 14th round of the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

After six years in the Premier League, Burnley were relegated in the 2021/22 season but gained an instant promotion last year in a dominant fashion. However, the current season is looking disastrous, as they are in the last place with just four points in 13 rounds. Sheffield United suffered a similarly disastrous season to Burnley, managing to secure just one more point than the Clarets. The Blades’ poor start to the season is unsurprising given their lackluster performance in the transfer window and ongoing injury issues. However, recent games have shown a slight improvement in results, which will undoubtedly raise the spirits of the South Yorkshire team.

Burnley vs Sheffield United pick: Both teams to score

Burnley’s offensive performance has been less than stellar, netting just ten goals in 13 rounds. However, they did manage to score in their last two matches against top-tier teams, West Ham and Arsenal. Therefore, when they face Sheffield United, the league’s weakest defensive team, at their home ground Turf Moore, we anticipate them to score at least once.

Sheffield United also had difficulty in offense, scoring just one more goal than the Clarets. However, in the last three games, the Blades have exhibited superior form compared to their rivals, securing four points and scoring four goals.

Additionally, these teams have performed extremely poorly in defense, ranking as the worst in the Premier League by conceding 32 and 34 goals in 13 rounds with no clean sheets. Given all these factors, but particularly their appalling defensive statistics, we anticipate that both teams will score.
