Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid Betting Tips: BTTS / Real Madrid to Win
After successfully clinifying the top spot in La Liga with a 2:0 victory over Getafe on Thursday, a high-performing Real Madrid heads back to the Bernabeu this weekend. Thanks to a double-strike from Joselu, Los Merengues have ascended back to the top of the division, now two points ahead of unexpected competitors Girona.
This season, Carlo Ancelotti’s team has been performing exceptionally well, boasting an unbeaten streak in their last 16 league games. However, it’s significant to mention that Real has tasted defeat twice this season, both times to Atletico, one of which was a 4:2 loss in the Copa del Rey in January.
In the past 12 months, Real Madrid has shown to be an especially tough team to defeat at the Bernabeu. The team, also known as Los Merengues, has not lost any of their 21 most recent home games, since their 3:2 loss to Villarreal in April of last year. Out of their last 15 La Liga home games, Ancelotti’s team has come out victorious in 13, including the five most recent ones. In their most recent match, Real Madrid made a comeback from being two goals down to secure a 3:2 win over Almeria.
Atletico make the short journey to the Bernabeu in good form having won each of their last five matches, including their 4:2 extra-time win against Real in the Copa del Rey. Atletico have struggled on the road though, losing four of their last five away league matches.
Although Real are justifiably expected to win, I am confidently betting on a high scoring game this weekend. The previous three matches between these teams have seen a total of 18 goals, and both teams have scored in each of their last six games.
Ultimately, I expect Real´s quality to see them over the line in a game where BTTS and at least three goals, can be backed with confidence.
