The top French team, PSG, is set to host Nice at Parc des Princes in Paris for the Coupe de France Quarter Finals on Wednesday evening.
PSG has been the dominant team in France in recent years, but their main ambition of securing the Champions League title remains unrealized. This season, they’ve already secured the Super Cup, made it to the UCL Quarter Finals, and are leading the domestic league with a significant ten-point lead over Reims, who are in second place. Despite these successes, they’ve recently learned that their star player, Mbappe, will be parting ways with the club in the Summer. Consequently, Luis Enrique has been attempting to limit his playing time. This move, however, has resulted in three consecutive draws in Ligue 1, clearly demonstrating a decrease in the team’s performance without Mbappe on the field.
Nice’s performance in the first 20-21 rounds of Ligue 1 this season was pleasantly unexpected, as they maintained a position in the top two. However, their form faltered drastically with only one point gained from the last five matches, and they fell to sixth place, a significant 16 points behind PSG. Even so, Nice is only five points away from the Champions League spots. While their current position is favourable for securing a place in Europe, their recent form raises serious concerns.
PSG vs Nice pick: Over 2.5 goals
PSG indisputably dominates as the top team in France, and notably, the most aggressive offensive team in the Ligue 1. They boast an average of 2.24 goals per game in the domestic league, making scoring a minimum of two goals against any other French team a plausible occurrence. This impressive offensive prowess is the primary reason PSG holds the record for the most games with three or more goals in Ligue 1, with 16 out of 25 games.
Throughout the season, Nice showed a commendable defensive performance, but they stumbled in recent matches, conceding nine goals in six games, which averages to 1.5 per game. They typically participated in games with low scores throughout the season. However, this trend did not continue recently, as their last six games saw over 2.5 goals scored in four occasions.
In the last head-to-head match, Nice triumphed with a 3:2 score at Parc des Princes. Given this, we believe that betting on more than 2.5 goals is the most secure option for this match.

PSG team news
The main question surrounding this match is if Mbappe will be in the starting lineup. As previously noted, the 25-year-old superstar will not be renewing his contract with PSG, leading coach Luis Enrique to adapt to playing without him. Enrique stated that they are becoming accustomed to playing without Mbappe.
Marco Asensio, Presnel Kimpembe, Layvin Kurazawa, Marquinhos, Sergio Rico, and Milan Skriniar, who were sidelined due to injuries in the previous games, should continue to remain out of play.

Nice team news
Pablo Rosario incurred an injury against Montpellier, forcing him to exit the field after 58 minutes. It is highly probable that he will be benched for the upcoming cup game due to this. Additionally, Sofiane Diop and Valentin Rosier are expected to continue being sidelined due to their respective injuries.
Following a 2:1 defeat against Montpellier, Coach Farioli addressed the media. He acknowledged that it’s a very challenging time and emphasized the need for unity within the team. “We managed to have a good run at the beginning. We can certainly replicate that,” he further expressed.
