Northampton are one of the teams that constantly traveled between League Two and League One. However, this season, the Cobblers are on pace for a mid-table finish, nowhere near the relegation zone. They are 14^th with 50 points, 15 points away from the danger zone, but also 13 points away from the Playoffs. So, a significant change in their standing is pretty unreal, considering they have only seven rounds left. They are in excellent form, and promotion looks very likely at this stage.

Prior to this game, Derby County had a winning streak of four consecutive matches, managing to keep a clean sheet in three of these four games. It appears they are performing at their peak when it is most crucial, making them a strong favourite against the struggling Northampton.
