Girona, one of the most delightful surprises in European football, had many fans hoping they would emulate Leicester’s renowned title run from 2015/16. They managed to keep up with Real Madrid for most of the season. However, after suffering two losses in their last three games, the championship dream now appears significantly more difficult. Nevertheless, a top-four finish would still be a significant accomplishment, and they are on track to achieve this considering they are ten points ahead of Athletic Bilbao, who are in fifth place.
