Contents
- Competition: Premier League
- Date: 23rd December 2023
- Kickoff: 17:30 UTC / 18:30 CET
- Venue: Anfield
The current top two teams in the English Premier League meet this weekend as Liverpool welcome Arsenal to Anfield.
Last year, Liverpool were not contenders for the Premier League title, however, this season has kicked off strongly for the Reds. A resounding 5:1 victory over West Ham United in the midweek game secured Jürgen Klopp’s team a spot in the League Cup semi-finals. They also successfully concluded their Europa League group stage. The Reds are performing well in the league too, lagging just a point behind the leading team, Arsenal, after seventeen matches.
Last season, Arsenal battled for the title until the very end and are looking to leverage that success this season. Currently, the visitors are five points ahead of reigning champions Manchester City, an achievement that Mikel Arteta finds satisfactory. This weekend presents a challenging task for the Gunners, but given their victory over City earlier this season, they have a good shot at walking away with a win.
Liverpool vs Arsenal Betting Tips: Liverpool to win and both teams to score
Anfield is a highly intimidating venue for any opposing team in England. Liverpool last suffered a loss at their home ground in February during the Champions League last 16 against Real Madrid, a La Liga team. Following their recent victory over West Ham United, Klopp’s squad has extended their unbeaten streak at Anfield to 21 games, with 18 wins and three draws.
This season, Arsenal boasts the third-best away record in the Premier League, yet they’ve struggled in recent away matches against Liverpool. They haven’t secured a win in their last ten league encounters at Anfield, conceding at least two goals in each match. Only two of these games resulted in a loss for bets on both teams to score.

Liverpool team news
There were concerns that Gravenberch had sustained a hamstring injury in the recent scoreless match against Manchester United. However, reports indicate that the midfielder only experienced muscle fatigue.
Thiago Alcantara returned to the bench in the previous game. However, the upcoming weekend game may occur too soon for Andy Robertson, Stefan Bajcetic, Alexis Mac Allister, and Diogo Jota.
Luis Díaz, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Mohamed Salah, who were substitutes in the last match against West Ham United, will be ready to start against the Gunners.

Arsenal team news
Similar to their hosts, Arsenal will also miss several key players this weekend because of injuries. These include Mohamed Elneny, Jurrien Timber, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Fabio Vieira, Thomas Partey, and Jorginho, who are all currently undergoing treatment.
Given that no injuries were incurred in the previous weekend’s victory over Brighton, it would be wise for head coach Mikel Arteta to maintain his starting XI.
