Kudos to Jordan on their achievement, but it’s worth noting that they are not a prominent team on the global or even Asian football stage. This is one of those rare leaps that can occasionally occur. Only a handful of the team’s players compete outside of Jordan, and South Korea dominates in nearly all positions. The entire Korean defense plays for the champion team, Ulsan Hyundai, and is further bolstered by Bayern Munich’s defender, Min Jae Kim. Son spearheads the team’s offense and his successful tenure at Tottenham is well-known. Following two somewhat fortunate victories in the 1/8 and 1/4 finals, we anticipate a less challenging match for Korea and perhaps even an effortless win.
