Cadiz vs Sevilla prediction 28.10.2023

Since coming to La Liga, Cadiz were in the lower part of the league’s table. Last year, despite finishing 14th, they were only two points away from relegation. The current season started fairly well for them, as they won seven points in the first four games, but the last few games have been a disaster. Now, after ten rounds, Cadiz are 16th, only three points away from the danger zone. 

Sevilla are coming to this season after a very interesting last one where they had the worst year in La Liga in the 21st century by finishing 12th, with 49 points &— four away from Europe. Still, they managed to win the Europa League title for the seventh time and secured the Champions League appearance that way. Even though most football experts thought the Andalusian team would be much better this season, they are struggling. In the Champions League, they won just one point in three rounds, while in the domestic league, Sevilla won nine in nine rounds.

Cadiz vs Sevilla pick: Under 2.5 goals

In the previous year, Cadiz and the bottom-ranked Elce shared the poorest offensive record in La Liga, managing to score a mere 30 goals in 38 rounds, which averages to 0.79 per game. This lackluster offensive performance persisted into this season, with Cadiz scoring just eight goals in ten matches. Only Las Palmas had a lower goal tally than Cadiz, scoring six. Recently, Cadiz’s offensive struggles have only deepened as they failed to score in three out of four games. Cadiz’s poor offense is primarily to blame for the team falling below 2.5 goals in seven out of ten rounds, which equates to 70%.

Sevilla are very inconsistent this season, and even though they are playing slightly better than Cadiz, we do not trust them to win this game on the road, and we think the under 2.5 goals is a much safer option. In the last five games, Sevilla scored six times. 

In the previous season, both h2h games were under 2.5 goals, with Sevilla winning 1:0 and 2:0. Additionally, the last five h2h games finished with fewer than three goals. Considering both teams’ poor goalscoring form, we expect another game with fewer than three goals.
