After a minimal 1:0 win for Wien, Austriaa in Wiena, we are headed to Banja Luka for the second leg of the League of Europa Conference second qualifying round.

Banja Luka Borac are among the best teams in Bosnia and Herzegovina since coming from the second tier. Last season, they came second but 20 points behind the champs &— Zrinjski Mostar. In Europe, Borac had very little success and never went past the 2nd qualifying round of any European competition.

Wien, Austriaa finished the last season in 5th place in the regular phase and were just one point away from failing to reach the Conference League Playoff. Luckily they secured the playoffs and later easily won against A. Lustenau and secured Europe this year.

Banja Luka Borac vs Wien, Austriaa pick: Under 2.5 goals

Considering they won second place in the Bosnian league, Banja Luka Borac were very poor offensively. In fact, they scored just 39 goals in 33 matches, which is only the 8th-best record (from 12 teams). On the other hand, they have been very good defensively, and that is the primary reason for their success last season.

Banja Luka Borac had a very poor pre-season, winning only once in five matches, and that was vs Omarska (a second-tier team in Bosnia) by 6:0. Besides that game vs Omarska, they had big problems offensively and scored just twice in the following four friendly matches.

Last season, Wien, Austriaa were very efficient, scoring around 1.7 goals per game. But in the last two games, that hasn’t been the case, as they only scored one goal. That was against Borac in the stoppage time of the match, which gave them a big advantage before the trip to Bosnia.

We believe that the safest wager for this tie is under 2.5 goals given both teams’ weak offensive form, the first leg, and Borac’s extremely defensive style of play. ,

Three justifications for limiting the number of targets

  1. In the three games before, Borac had fewer than 2.5 targets.
  2. Wien, Austria failed to score in the last league match vs Sturm Graz
  3. In the first calf, we only saw one goal.
