- Date: Tuesday, 26th March 2024
- Kickoff: 17:00 UTC / 18:00 CET
- Venue: Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena (Tbilisi)
Georgia are looking for their first appearance in any major tournament. They haven’t been impressive throughout the EURO Qualifiers, finishing 4th in a very challenging group with Spain, Scotland, Norway, and Cyprus. Luckily for Crusaders, they won UEFA Nations League C and got the opportunity to play in the EURO Playoffs and secure their historic appearance that way. In the Semi-Finals, they relatively easily dealt with Luxembourg and will now have a much more challenging task against Greece.
The EURO Champions from 2004, Greece, haven’t qualified for EURO and the World Cup on the previous two occasions. The last time they appeared in any major tournament was a decade ago. In the EURO Qualifiers, Greece did well, finishing 3rd, behind very good teams, Netherlands and France. Still, by winning UEFA Nations League C against Kosovo, Northern Ireland, and Cyprus, they got the opportunity to qualify throughout the playoffs. In the Semi-Finals, they impressed with a big win at home against Kazakhstan (5:0). Still, the final game against Georgia at Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi will undoubtedly be much more challenging.
Georgia vs Greece pick: Both teams to score
Georgia is performing exceptionally well in their home football games. In their most recent 12 matches across all competitions on their own turf, Georgia only suffered a defeat to Spain, yet managed to score even in that match. They have demonstrated their scoring prowess by netting goals in 11 out of these 12 games, and that too against formidable teams such as Spain, Norway, Scotland, and Sweden. Therefore, the prospect of them scoring a goal in their home game against Greece appears quite likely.
Greece has been performing exceptionally well recently, despite their history of offensive issues. In their recent matches, this has not been a problem. They have come out victorious in four out of the last six games, netting 16 goals, averaging 2.7 per match. Their defense is reliable, however, when they play away games, our confidence in them wavers. This is due to the fact that they have only managed to keep a clean sheet two times in seven away games.
Both teams are performing well, leading us to anticipate a closely contested match. Given their recent match performances, we project that both teams will likely score.

The total market value of Georgia is approximately 150 million euros, while Greece’s market value is marginally higher at 152 million euros.

Greece team news
Following a 5:0 victory over Kazakhstan, we anticipate that Coach Gustavo Poyet will retain the same 4-3-3 attacking formation with minimal to zero changes in the starting lineup for the match against Georgia.
The contract of coach Gustavo Poyet expires on 31st March 2024, and the outcome of the Georgia game will probably be a deciding factor as to whether the federation will offer him a new one. In one of his interviews, the coach said that he wants to stay in Greece and also noted they will give their best to return to EURO on the 20th anniversary of winning the EURO title in Portugal.
