On Thursday, Bosnia will host Ukraine at Stadion Bilino Polje for the first leg of the Euro 2024 play-offs.
Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Ukraine Betting Tips &— Ukraine to Win
The hosts confirmed their participation in the play-offs through the Nations League path after a lackluster qualifying phase. Bosnia and Herzegovina ended up fifth in a group of six, following a woeful qualifying campaign that saw them lose seven out of ten matches. Their notable losses included a crushing 4-1 defeat by Luxembourg and an embarrassing 5-0 defeat at home against Portugal.
Despite kicking off their campaign with an impressive 3-0 triumph against Iceland, Bosnia’s performance significantly declined, with victories against Liechtenstein being the only other highlight of their campaign.
Entering this crucial playoff, B&H have suffered seven losses in their last nine games, including three of their last four at home. Last year, Luxembourg and Slovakia secured victories on the road when they visited Zenica.
Ukraine enters this first-leg with a significantly superior recent performance record. Sergei Rebrov’s team has only faced defeat in two of their last ten games. Moreover, they have garnered away wins in Malta, North Macedonia, and Armenia since September of last year.
Ukraine must have been greatly disappointed to miss out on automatic qualification after finishing third in their qualifying section, lagging only behind Italy based on the H2H record. Despite this setback, they have yet to secure their spot in Germany. However, facing either Israel or Iceland in a possible final, it appears likely that Rebrov’s team will seize a second chance to qualify.
Given Bosnia´s dreadful form, the Ukrainians look to offer some decent value to win on Thursday. I’m backing Rebrov´s men to claim a first-leg advantage in Zenica with the visitors expected to score at least two goals.
