Sheffield Wednesday, currently fearing for their Championship status, are languishing in the relegation zone, six points adrift of safety. While there is still a lot of the season left, the team under Danny Rohl’s leadership must improve their performance. They are winless in their last three matches. In their most recent game, they managed a 1-1 draw at home in the FA Cup against Coventry. The visitors were on the verge of victory, but Sheffield Wednesday fought back, scoring a late second-half goal to force a replay.
Watford’s performance in the 2023/24 season has been lackluster, landing them in tenth place on the table. However, they are just three points away from the playoff zone, and Valerian Ismael’s squad could potentially turn things around with a good run of results before the season ends. Currently, they are undefeated in their last six matches, with two wins and four draws. In their last FA Cup match against Southampton, they tied 1-1 on their home field. They nearly advanced, but a late goal from Southampton’s Stuart Armstrong in the 89th minute forced a replay to decide who will progress to the next round.
Sheffield Wednesday vs Watford pick: Both teams to score &— yes
Sheffield Wednesday has managed to score a minimum of one goal in five out of the past six matches. Conversely, Watford has consistently scored at least one goal in their last 13 games. Therefore, the safest bet for this match would be that both teams will score.

Sheffield Wednesday team news
Sheffield Wednesday is making efforts to fortify their squad this January. They have enlisted the services of goalkeeper James Beadle on loan from Brighton, and striker Ike Ugbo from Troyes. Beadle did not participate in the FA Cup tie a few days ago since he had already played for Oxford United in the cup earlier in the season. However, Beadle may get a chance to return to the starting lineup in the match against Watford. Conversely, Ugbo had a stint with Cardiff in the first half of the season where he managed to score four Championship goals.
Callum Paterson, John Buckley, and Dominic Iorfa are sidelined with injuries and will be unable to participate in Wednesday’s match against Watford.
