Two teams expected to be absent from EURO 2024 in Germany, Azerbaijan and Sweden, will face off in Baku on Thursday evening.
Last time, Azerbaijan played host to Austria after kicking off their October international break with a victory over Estonia, thereby breaking their four-game streak without a win. To keep their dreams of qualifying for their first significant tournament alive, Gianni De Biasi’s team needed to triumph over the Austrians by at least three goals. However, Azerbaijan, which is ranked 120th in the FIFA rankings, narrowly lost 0:1. Now, their only aim is to prevent ending up at the bottom of their group in consecutive EURO qualifying rounds.
Meanwhile, Sweden has embarked on the EURO 2024 qualifiers, aiming to qualify for the European Championship for the fourth consecutive time. The Blue and Yellows, currently in third place in Group F, are nine points behind the top two, ensuring they will not participate in next year’s games in Germany.
Azerbaijan vs Sweden Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals
Azerbaijan’s defence continues to be a significant issue, despite not conceding many goals in recent matches. Only one out of their last nine games ended with them not conceding a goal under the leadership of Gianni De Biasi. Furthermore, they have not managed a clean sheet in their last six home games during the Euro qualifying campaign.
Sweden’s recent games have been dominated by entertainment, with at least four goals being scored in seven out of their last eight matches. The Blue and Yellows’ recent away games in the Euro qualifying campaign have also been quite exciting, as only two out of the last seven games ended with less than 2.5 goals.

Sweden team news
Isak got off to a strong start in the 2023-24 campaign with Newcastle United in the Premier League, scoring six goals in just eight games.
The 24-year-old subsequently sustained a groin injury over two weeks ago in the Champions League against Dortmund and has been unable to play ever since.
Janne Andersson will continue to use a 4-4-2 formation in all EURO 2024 qualifiers this week, as he has done so far. Former Man United player Elanga may partner with Viktor Gyökeres in the forward position.
